Privacy Policy

Bellready (bellready.app) is a planning app and classroom projection screen for K-8 teachers. It is operated by Titus Digital LLC, a Washington State company ("we," "us," "our").

This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. For a plain-language summary focused on student records, FERPA, and COPPA, see our Student Data Privacy page.

Teacher account information

Bellready accounts are for teachers and school staff. When you create an account and use the app, we store:

• Your email address (used to sign you in with a magic link) and your name
• Your grade, state, and, if you choose to add them, your school and district
• Your schedule, lessons, plans, tasks, and settings

Student information entered by teachers

Students never create accounts or use Bellready directly. Any student information in Bellready is entered by a teacher, and may include:

• First or preferred names (last names are not required)
• Optional flags the teacher chooses to record, such as IEP, 504, ELL, speech, OT, or medical and allergy notes
• Private teacher notes and notes for substitutes
• Attendance, groups, and lesson outcomes or mastery

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider processes basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We use only essential authentication cookies. See Cookies.

We use the information described above only to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure Bellready
• Sign you in and sync your data across your devices
• Power the features you choose to use, including optional AI features
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Send you important service messages (for example, sign-in links or changes to this policy)

We never sell personal information or student data. We do not use student data for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for any non-educational purpose.

Your data is stored in your browser (local storage) so the app works quickly, and is synced to our database so it is available on all your devices. Our database is provided by Supabase and hosted in the United States.

• Access controls limit each teacher's data to that teacher's account.
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• Our database provider encrypts data at rest.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

We share information only with service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run Bellready, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: database and sign-in (authentication)
• Vercel: website and application hosting
• Anthropic: powers optional AI features (see AI features)
• Google (YouTube Data API / search): receives search queries to suggest teaching resources. No student data is sent.

When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor (Stripe). We will not store your card number.

We may also disclose information if required by law (for example, a valid court order), or to protect the safety and security of our users and service. If Bellready is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, any successor must honor the commitments in this policy for data already collected, or we will notify you and give you the chance to delete your data first.

Bellready offers optional AI features, including lesson and activity generation, extracting content from files you upload, task categorization, and drafting parent messages. These features are powered by Anthropic.

• Parent messages: the student's name is replaced with a placeholder before the request is sent.
• Other AI features: we send the lesson and planning content you provide for that request.
• Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
• We do not use student data to train AI models.

Please avoid typing student names or other identifying student details into free-text AI prompts. AI output can be inaccurate, so review anything it generates before using it.

You can create a share link so a substitute can view your sub plan. A share link:

• Includes the sub plan and only the student information you choose to include
• Uses a random, unguessable token
• Expires within 7 days, and you can revoke it at any time

Anyone who has the link can view it until it expires or is revoked, so share it only with your substitute or school staff.

Teachers enter student information under their school's direction and policies. For student information, we act as a "school official" under FERPA, using the data only to provide Bellready to the teacher and school.

• The teacher and school own and control student data.
• We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
• Parents or guardians who want to review, correct, or delete their child's information should contact their child's teacher or school. We will help the teacher or school with those requests.

Bellready is not directed to children and children do not use it. Read more on our Student Data Privacy page.

We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not currently use analytics. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, we'll update this policy.

• Download your data: Settings → Download my data gives you a copy of everything in your account as a JSON file.
• Delete your account: Settings → Delete my account permanently deletes your account and your synced data from our database immediately. Copies in backups are overwritten on our providers' standard backup schedule. Data stored in your own browser can be cleared through your browser settings.
• Correct your data: you can edit your information in the app at any time.
• Ask us: you can also email hello@bellready.app to request access, correction, or deletion, and we will honor it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us and we will help.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so it is there when you need it. When you delete your account, we delete your data as described above. Schools and teachers can also ask us to delete specific student information at any time.

If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information or student data, we will notify affected teachers and schools without undue delay and as required by law.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. We will not make material changes to how we use student data without notice.
